The 2017 WakaNZ: Navigating with foresight workshop, held in collaboration with the New Zealand Treasury, saw thirty-four rangatahi Māori from throughout Aotearoa come together to explore what a preferred post-Treaty settlement future in New Zealand might look like. You can download the workshop booklet here or purchase a hard copy of the booklet from the Institute’s online store.
The booklet is an anchor point for the workshop, recording its proceedings and sharing the participants’ observations and recommendations. Participants identified four kaupapa to focus their energy on during the workshop: Tuakiri/Identity; Whanaketanga – Hauora, Taiao and Mātauranga/Health, Environment and Education; Pakihi/Māori Business and Enterprise; and Tino Rangatiratanga and Crown Sovereignty in Aotearoa. These are outlined in the workshop booklet along with short- and long-term goals for each kaupapa.
